Are you interested in working at the Amazon Store scale? Are you interested in accelerating store builders to help Amazon innovate faster? Come join us as we are re-inventing Amazon's Store architecture and building the future runtime architecture to deliver shopping experiences that millions of Amazon customers use every day.

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to join a team that builds a programming language runtime for enabling interactivity and reactivity within the Amazon store. You will lead projects and partner with other teams to design, build, and evolve this system. You will have the opportunity to dive deep into distributed systems that serve hundreds of thousands of transactions per second.

Key job responsibilities

As a Frontend Engineer you will use a combination of industry popular and Amazon proprietary software to build capabilities for evolving how experiences are built on the Amazon website. You will have the opportunity to effect worldwide and Amazon-wide impact like latency optimization to speed up the shopping experience for our customers. You will focus on testability, scalability, maintainability, code quality, and cogent design, and help raise the bar for the team's development in this aspect.

About The Team

This team sits within the Authoring Foundation org. Authoring Foundations is at the base of the Amazon's Store Architecture. Our mission is to simplify how Store Builders build portable and interactive frontend components, features, and experiences on the Amazon Store by providing a world-class programming language experience. We foster an inclusive, and exciting team environment, all while tackling challenging and complex problems that will set the stage for how Store Builders create new experiences on the Amazon App and Website. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: San Francisco, CA, USA.

Basic Qualifications

1+ years of agile software development methodology experience
Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
